Dear friends and family…

July 2nd, 2009

This blog is in dedication to Annie who passed on from this world this morning at 2:20am. (July 2nd 2009- Melbourne, Australia)

Beautiful Annie Guillet

Annie truly lived life to the fullest. For a young 32 year old she has achieved far more than most.

There was never a time when Annie did not have a smile for anyone.  She always stopped to listen and give her all to help anyone in any which way she could.

Please share your loving memory of her, the way she made you smile, made you happy, inspired you, made you healthier, kicked your butt in some sort of competition etc…

  1. Dr Marc Dussault Says:

Monica and I spent time with Annie as recently as last Sunday. She demonstrated then as she always has, the Mindset Of A Champion - the strength and fortitude that becomes the inspiration for all others to admire and respect.

Her fighting spirit will remain with us forever.

Annie leaves a legacy of strength and conviction to ideals she believed in and lived to them to the fullest.

She lived life on her terms, a life full of adventure and boundless opportunity thinking that is so rare that it defined who she was.

Her beauty was transcended her physical elegance, it lay in the ability to take anything and everything ‘on’ without reservation or hesitation and childlike enthusiasm, excitement and passion.

Paulo’s dedication to her in the last year has been an example of what unconditional love is all about - he was there for her when it was most important and I know he will forever cherish the memories he was able to share with her.

To Annie and Paulo’s families, our hearts and thoughts are with you at this most difficult time.

We will miss her, but she will never be forgotten.

  2. Geraldine Heffernan Says:

If ever a Goddess walked on Earth, it was Annie Guillet.
I am convinced she was made of stars.

There was always a twinkle in her eyes and a sparkle in her tone.
And when she touched my life, I somehow shone.

She had this ability to enter a person’s life and help them to blaze brighter, love better and contribute more.

She was a woman who led by example.

She is my friend forever more and in whatever matter – as Woman, as Earth, as Star.

I will treasure the lessons you have tought me and the love you have given me, the spirit you have alighted in me and the courage you have always given me to be free – especially when racing through the Spanish Hills on the back of your bloody red ‘tuc-tuc’ scooter!

I love you Annie, my ‘Guillet’ xoxox

  3. Belinda Price Says:

THANKYOU for your friendship and love Annie. You were a Goddess & on your hen’s night as Lara Croft ~ know that your namesake didn’t hold a candle to you my friend.

Sister my sister my heart’s a mess,
Sister my sister you were one of the best,
Sister my sister meet me in the next life,

I have the priviledge of meeting Annie some 7 years ago. As A Gazelle, she was poised, stricking and full of charm. I am so devastated that i will not walk this earth anymore, knowing that part of her legacy, in the inspiration of life will not be present. I didn’t know her very very well, but the times that i spoke with her, I became very aware of her strengh and admire her class, sporstmanship and inventive way of dealing with matters so hard from one and so easy for her. I remember telling her about my backache, and in a nice sweet way she told me that she could help a lot, if only i try her recipes, today made famous by her book, so i can loose some weight.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Paul and family. And i am beginning to believe, that only the good die young.

    Dear Paul, my condolences

  5. Jan Freitag Says:

For all the years I have known Annie, I have always admired her zest for life and her ability and enthusiastic determination to excel in whatever she undertook to do.

Annie lived life “to the max” and packed more into her short life than most of us will ever do in ours. She was caring and compassionate and had an inordinate sense of fun and adventure.

During the last year she proved how much of a fighter she was. Rather than giving up, she fought with the strength of unconditional love to be with the ones she loved just that little bit longer. For that love, strength and courage, I will be forever grateful.

Paulo’s unwavering dedication to Annie and the love they shared should be an inspiration to us all.

I still consider Annie part of the family as she will live on in my heart and my memories. Like so many others, I will miss her but I am content knowing she is at peace and has moved further on the cosmic journey.

My heart and thoughts are with all the family and Annie’s many friends during this time.

Wherever you are Annie, whatever road you are now travelling, take care and know my love is with you.

    Uncle Jan

  6. Daniel Lizurek Says:

The last time we saw Annie, she was confined to her hospital bed. Yet, she was strong, heroic, and always looking on the positive side of life. That’s our Annie – she knew how to play full-on no matter what cards life has dealt her.

Annie was a high achiever. She was a true hero who dared to trek where most people are too afraid to go. Annie served as a beacon of inspiration, and a demonstration of what a determined human spirit can do and accomplish despite the odds.

Through her love, passion and generous spirit she has helped hundreds of people around the globe live more healthy, rewarding and vibrant lives.

It was a great honor to know such a talented, passionate and driven individual who knew how to win and keep winning in life and business.

To Annie and Paulo’s families, we’re with you in spirit and are grieving this great loss.

Even though she has left us, she will stay in our hearts forever.

    Daniel and Janet Lizurek.

  7. Jan Freitag Says:

God looked around his garden And He found an empty place. And then He looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, And lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, And whispered”Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you . But you didn’t go alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.

  10. Marie-Claude Forest Says:

    Dear Annie,

I can’t believe you are already gone. It seems to be yesterday we were chatting in front of our lockers about the future and what was coming for us. I always knew you would come to help people because you had that strength only olympians have!

Your strength has now divised and everyone you loved has been given a little piece of it. We will remember you, always.

Marie-Claude (from Horizon Jeunesse High school, Laval, Canada)

P.S.: Tu seras toujours notre personnalité de l’année! xx

  11. Andrew & Dimitri Razos Says:

    Dear Annie,

Although we haven’t known you for that long, and met you in the later stages of your life, we could always see that distinguishable bright spark inside you that separated the amateurs from the high achievers like yourself.

You were like no one we had ever met before, and someone that had achieved so much in so little time. You were a great inspiration and role model, and always seemed to “get out there” and achieve something. You gave everything your full attention and always put in to the max!

Your smile would shine and your good nature would present, to show that you were always proud of your achievements, and that you had no regrets!

May peace and love be with you.

    Andrew & Dimitri Razos

  12. Ruben and Marta Putrananda Says:

    Paulo,

Me and Marta were shocked to hear of the news of Annie’s passing. We can only imagine how difficult it must be for you and your family.

  15. Cheyne Goulden Says:

Annie was an inspiration, an angel, a leader and a breathtaking expression of the divine beauty of the universe. Annie was a stunning blossoming of consciousness and she made a deep, positive, long lasting impression on the lives of everyone she connected with and certainly on my life.

I am forever greatful for the gifts that she gave me, perhaps without her even realising it.

I will always remember the courage, determination, the strength, the elegance, the humour, the love that she embodied during the hike that we completed back in 2006, up Mt McDonald. Annie Sven says Hello too.

It was impossible not to love her. Annie Guillet to me was like what i would imagine Mary Magdalene to be. Simply beautiful, mind body and soul.

This angel has been called back to the source of all things, to begin her next important mission.

    Love and Light.

    Cheyne Goulden

  16. Sharon Benson Says:

I knew Annie for only a short time, through a close mutual friend, and I know how much of an inspiration she was to others, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Beautiful Annie, your spirit will live on here and beyond, as you have re-emerged into pure positive energy until such time you decide to embark on another exciting venture in the physical form. Bless you, and hugs and best wishes to Paulo and loved ones.

  17. Geeta Heffernan Says:

Annie came into our life like an angel with her healing touch and helped us take better care of our health. Her willingness to take on a challenge is well known and her achievements are legendary. The friendship and bond we had with Paulo since his childhood strengthened with Annie now being part of our extended family.

Annie, we will miss your zest for life, your smile and the beauty you radiated. But as someone has already said, only the good die young!

Our hearts go out to Helene and Jacques, Annie’s brothers and of course to Paulo, Antonia and Klaus.

  18. Geeta Heffernan Says:

To Paulo - Take courage dEAR friend, her suffering has ended and in the words of Patience Strong:

    Always a Hope

There’s always a hope though it may be quite small,
There’s always a star though the darkness may fall
There’s always a glimmer of gold in the grey and
Always a flower growing wild by the way

There’s always a song floating out in the air.
There’s always a dawn to the night of despair
There’s always a path for the faithful to tread and
Always a bend in the roadway ahead

There’s always a chance, but you’ve got to believe
You’ve got to be ready to see and receive
The hints and the signs although faint they appear
To wait and to trust till the meaning grows clear….

And when through the murk of the shadows you grope
You’ve got to remember there’s always a hope!

My dear sweet Annie I have been so blessed to be a part of your journey, especially in the last 6 months since your return from Canada. Your bravery, your unfaltering dedication to finding a path to wellness, and your continual smile throughout the hard times were truely inspirational.

Let your smile light up the beacons in the other world where you will continue to be ‘Annie’ in spirit doing what you do best. Dedicated, passionate, supportive and inspirational to all beings who need guidance and encouragement along their own journeys.

Annie, a young girl of beauty both outside and within, I will miss you my friend. You have given me courage to continue my own journey. I know our paths will cross again either in the spirit realm or within another life.

    Light A Candle
    © J

    light a candle,
    see it glow,
    watch it dance,
    when you feel low,
    think of me,
    think of light,
    I’ll always be here,
    day or night,
    a candle flickers,
    out of sight,
    but in your heart,
    I still burn bright,
    think not of sadness,
    that I’m not near,
    think of gladness,
    and joyous cheer,
    I have not left,
    I am not gone,
    I’m here to stay
    my special one,
so when you light a candle
    and you see it glow
    and you watch it dance
    in your heart you’ll know
that I would never leave you
even when you feel so blue
I’m sitting up here with the Lord
    and now watching over you

Paulo, love u man, hope you accept my condolence; sorry to write this in french but it was more easy for me to exprime myself.

  33. Lucie Lauzon Says:

I knew Annie at the age of 12 years old. Beside being an intimate friend, she transmitted me the love for track and field. Facing the adversity, she became a mentor for me. With her by my side, I understood that finishing first is not a guarantee of success, it was necessary to surpass ourselves first and foremost to really deserve this first place.

She was the sunshine of everyone who had the chance to be by her side. Endowed with a big heart, each had its own place by her side. She allowed me to become the woman that I am by her example of tenacity, of tolerance and her hability to transform every event in a positive manner.

There is so much to say about Annie…AN EXTRAORDINARY WOMAN!!! who went at the end of her convictions.

Distance separated us, but each time we saw again, we understood the true sense of this friendship. PAY IT FORWARD, that’s what she transmitted inside each of us. I am certain that she lives in me more than ever and that she is consequently much closer than she has ever been before.

I HONOUR YOU BY AIMING HIGH AND NEVER GIVE UP

I have no regret, I look forward and know, that one day,…we will see again!!

All my thoughts goes to Paulo and their family

Hi Paulo and family of Annie,

I have only just found out about your terrible loss and wish to pass on our families heartfelt condolences to you. As a resident of Melbourne, I am so sorry that I didn’t check my emails sooner, as I would have joined you for Annies wake. I have sat here and read through all of the beuatiful posts on Annie and can only wonder what God was thinking when he took one of his brightest stars from this planet.

I have known Paulo for two years through I only ever met Annie once, however the memory of that solitary meeting lives strong. Her dedication to her sport, profession, health, fitness and family were evident and made me a better person just through seeing her. I can’t even begin to think what you all must be feeling at the moment.

Paulo, if there is anything we can do to help you, please let us know. I am still in shock and will contact you in coming days to repeat this offer. Remain strong my friend. Your angel is at peace,

We also shared a love of motorbikes & I often admired your bike in Collins St & noticed when it wasn’t there (after you decided it was tired & lay it down on the road for a rest) My heart pours out for you Paulo & may Annie’s strenght be with you also.

No amount of words can make up for the loss you have suffered. Take comfort in knowing that there is a little of Annie in everyone she ever came in contact with. Her smile, energy, determination, and most of all her genuine care for all will live on. The strength and determination that she showed in fighting her battle just demonstrated to all who knew her just how strong a person she is.

Mr. and Mrs. Guillet and family,
Your daughter is very special to all of us. You should be very proud of the loving and caring person you raised in Annie. She impacted all of our lives and will never be forgotten. She was a truly great person, doctor, wife and daughter.

    To All,
We have lost a classmate, little sister, doctor and best friend. Her impact on all of our lives will last forever.

  54. Isabelle Fiset Says:

  56. Marie-Josée Le Jour Says:

    Dear Annie,

It seemed like it was yesterday that we were sitting on a terrasse in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, sipping on sangria. It was such a pleasure to reconnect with you last summer. I was so devastated when you told me about your illness. Yet, I was amazed at how you kept such a positive attitude in spite of everything. Thank you for re-entering my life when I needed guidance the most…

We have known each other for many many years, through track and field. Had it not been for you, I probably would have never gone to the U.S. for school and athletics. You had it all figured out, ACT, SAT, Clearinghouse… I was so impressed. I remember that you gave me a list of schools and their addresses and you told me: “Send EVERYBODY a letter!” I thought you were crazy, but I did it anyway because I figured you were probably on to something… And of course, you were! You made me realize that one shouldn’t be embarrassed to THINK BIG!

    So many memories…

I don’t understand why God decided it was time for you to leave us. I cannot imagine how much pain your family must be going through right now. I will keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers. We may have lost you, in the physical realm, but you will live forever in our hearts. May you rest in peace my friend, love you always.

Paulo, my most sincere condolences. May you find the strength to carry on despite this heartbreaking event.

  57. Romany Says:

Paulo, Annie’s family and all who knew and loved Annie, my heartfelt thoughts are with you.
Annie was truly a radiant flame who illuminated all those with whom she had contact. That flame continues on, burning within each of us.
Annie we will never forget you and deeply appreciate the part of your life that was on this earth.

  58. Jerome Calver Says:

I’m absolutely flabbergasted. I never knew Annie, but I read all her emails. I’m in the process of getting my wife to want to try out the Alkaline Cookbook, but we’re in the red moneywise and the ingredients are also sort of costly so I haven’t yet purchased the book. I think I want it now more than ever. Enough about that though. I’m very sad especially for Paulo. Annie was so pretty and vibrant and interactive with her projects. I have a daughter who was born the year before Annie and I find it so hard to believe that life can be so unpredictable and hard. My feelings of inadequate response and sadness that life has just moved on without any personal contact or furthering of what she tried so diligently to get me going on, has left me feeling empty and I’m not handling this well,as I’ll never be able to tell her how highly I think of her. My condolences for you Paulo. I thank you for your heartfelt email and I know God will help you in your plight.
    Yours sincerely,Jerome.

  59. Collette Says:

    Paulo and family,

My condolences to you all. When I signed up for my Alkaline Cookbook. She sent me such a nice note and mentioned that she went to school in Georgia. She always had such a refreshing smile. I had no idea that she was ill. If you know and understand God’s characteristics you know that he does not cause death so he did not “decide” it was her time. Unfortunately, time and unforeseen occurrence befall us all (Ecclesiastes 9:11). But he does promise a resurrection (John 5:28-29). No doubt this is probably a very challenging time for you and your family, but God will be there to comfort you (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

  60. Nat Oakley Says:

I am so sad to hear of Annie’s passing. I feel blessed to have met such an inspirational, motivated and beautiful woman.

The love and healing Annie showered upon the world will be forever felt in all our hearts and souls.

Annie may you rock the heavens in your “apple bottom jeans” and continue showering the earth with your light.

My love and prayers go out to you Paulo, Antonia, Klaus and Annie’s family and friends.

  65. Maree McLean Says:

    Dear Paulo and Family

I simply cant believe it. I look up to Annie for her caring work with the Alkaline Cook Book and dedicated emails about general health. I didnt know Annie had a condition, in fact I always looked at her pictures with envy of her health and striking beauty. I used to think she was so lucky and successfull. Well, we are the lucky ones for having her hard work at our fingertips, and the priceless blessings that she made possible. I have been taking my health for granted, but this very sad news has made me think that I need to stop wasting pecious time.

Deepest condolences to all Friends and Family

    Dear Paulo & family

I am so deeply sorry for your loss, my condolences & love to you all.

Annie has helped me, time and time again over the last 6 years.

I first met Annie in my darkest hour, when my life was in tatters and my body was suffering because of it. With her beautiful heart and soul, and her amazing healing hands, she helped me become well again.

I remember sharing in her excitement of her wedding plans…and enjoyed the wonderful photos she so proudly shared with me. So clear and strong was her love for Paulo.

Her spirit was just a shining light in the lives of so many people.

I will miss Annie, she will always have a place in my heart. A true healer.

    Kind regards, Barb Sims

  68. Lynda Says:

Dear Paulo and family - I was a patient of Annie’s and I’m devastated to hear of her passing. She looked after me during my pregnancy and I always looked forward to our appointments. She was so passionate about her work and willingness to help, help, help. I’m just so sorry to hear this news.

  69. Dex Lee Magpantay Says:

My regards to your family Paulo and Annie.

I was blessed enough to work with Annie and be a part of her life’s commitment to help others. All you would need to do is meet her to know all the stories about this amazing human being were true. If ever there was a woman who presented herself as strong, caring, inspirational and positive it was Annie. I learnt so much from you Annie and I thank you my friend for leading me on the path I am on now.

Paulo, my thoughts and prayers are with you brother, it was not long ago, that I actually tried to get in contact with the 2 of you as it has been a while, so when I heard of this news it was a big shock. Reading all the great things about Annie comes as no surprise, she will be dearly missed, but all you have to do is look up to see her… as she’s there amongst the stars…..

  70. Asanka Says:

  73. Elzbieta Rozalski Says:

A beautiful person and a beautiful soul.
I met Dr. Annie in February of 2007, when I injured my back and had an emergency visit in her office. Her beautiful smile and gentle touch made me feel better on the spot. And after the treatment Dr. Annie gave me her mobile number ‘just in case’. I felt so special, when she called me the next day to check up on me, on her day off. I was so pleasantly surprised that she cared for me. During my following visits, I discovered what a wonderful person Dr. Annie was.
Every visit and her workshops, where an opportunity for me to learn from her. Since then, I always hear Dr. Annie’s voice reminding me to ’sit straight’, ‘look straight at the computer monitor’, ‘never sit with your legs crossed’.
During one of her workshops (The Alkaline Cook Book was not yet published) I was concerned about 12 days of fasting — Dr. Annie told me: “I was on it for 3 months, so you can do it for 12 days!”. And she was so right!!
I think of Dr. Annie often now. I recall a day when I was early for one of my appointments with her and I remember Dr. Annie smiling at me, whilst eating a HUUUGE carrot. That image will remain with me for the rest of my life.

Sometimes, God sends us beautiful souls for a short mission to inspire and love others. Dr. Annie was one of those souls. She left a big mark in my heart. That’s why her spirit will be with me always. And I’m sure she will be with many others. She had that special touch that is impossible to forget.
    Thank You Dr. Annie

My deepest sympathy to Annie’s Paulo and family.
    Elzbieta Rozalski

  74. Joanne & Andrew Madaffari Says:

I am truly devasted and shocked on the loss of such a remarkable, talented and beautiful woman.

I first met Dr Annie about 3 years ago, at her practice in Melbourne, as I heard about this wonderful chiropractor that could help my Autistic son Andrew.
Andrew is the little boy who Dr Annie adjust in the featured “You Tube” video link which has received over 42,000 hits. Annie’s support and help was truly remarkable and Andrew’s behaviour improved dramatically with each adjustment. Andrew just loved her as you can see by his beaming smile in the video.

My deepest sympathy to all her husband, family and friends on this tragic loss of our beautiful Annie.

    Love always,
Joanne & Andrew Madaffari and family

  75. Juliet Nelson Says:

Annie asked me during one of the daily visits why I nurse in such a sad environment. I answered, “Because it teaches me so much about life.” We shared the moment with tears in our eyes. During these hour long visits we talked about our childhood, the experiences she had with her family at the Summer House, being the oldest in the family, and her life with Paulo. It was a nice time for Annie to reflect on her life.

When I first met Annie I commented on how beautiful she was - the photo on the wall was my first sight of her. She beamed with pride as she told me Paulo had the photo taken, “…. as he is my biggest fan,” she chuckled.

It was an honor to nurse Annie.

    Juliet Nelson.

  76. Oscar Ozden Says:

I only had the previledge of hearing about Annie, about her courage, her strength her will power and so many more qualities that she inspired me and I am sure so many other people with. I am grateful to have heard of her unfortunately I did not have the luck to meet her. But she still affected me and inspired me with her ability and strength, also saddened me that such a great soul left us so early!!
I have had the pleasure of meeting Paulo on behalf of a great friend Daniel Lizurek, and through both of you I had heard so much about her.
    Dear Paulo & her family,
I can’t say that I know exactly how you feel but I do feel for you all. I pray that god gives you all patience and strength. You had the pleasure of her as a partner, parent, sibling and great friend and right now and forever she will be with you all.
    Take care

  77. Petra Learmonth Says:

    ANNIE IS PACK’N GUNS

I know that you are, and that you simply will be
Your strength from within, is much stronger than me
When I close my eyes, feel the touch of your might
Your soul has travelled and journeyed this night
Don’t blind me with your sequences or mirror ball
And I won’t tell you, that this is the last dance of all

Laugh if you want, but in a state of trance
For your soul to come down, I hope for that chance
Don’t leave it too long, without a sign from above
or I will have to summon the one they call, the White Dove.

My cards are on the table, I have played them well
And If you don’t respond, I will go straight to hell
Actually not really, just exaggerating my point
You wouldn’t want to see me, adjust a human’s spinal joint

You made your mark when you broke the mould
You had no plans to retire, nor definitely to get old
Too much life and beauty to squeeze into one little dress
Annie is pack’n guns a’blazing, so don’t even mess

Things to do, people to see, research quickly to find the key
No time to waste, must be at the competition tonight by 8.00
A woman worldly, with the world at her feet
Is on a mission from God, that even he couldn’t beat

I must bye - your - leave as I become acidic, with a tear
I must remain alkaline, and show no fear
The teacher has taught, and the student has learned
To go out on its own and spread the Green word

That Damn Hand came down and put everything on hold
But the timelessness of the Ages will bring on the gold
Ancient wisdom can tell, and tells us that it all takes time
And life can’t be finished whether yours or mine

So when we meet again, it’s YOU, and your soul will say
Have you had your chiropractic adjustment for today
We will melt as the magic fingers come back
And will curse with pain till we get on the rack

You know us by lumbar, thoracic and cervical
The moon will be full and Jupiter will pass by the cycle
So whatever that means, on the spiritual path
We know that you so generously shared all your love

We take the time now to thank the heavens 8 laws
The little Fluer - de - Lys will be back that’s for sure
But luckily for us that powerhouse, that Buzzing Bee
Will always pick up the phone and respond, to the emergency call from Humanity

    Auf wiedersehn,
    Petra Learmonth

I’m a stranger to Annie, but she was a mentor to my good friend, so I decided I would do what I love to do- continue the legacy. I have passed her wonderful legacy on by posting her Alkaline Cookbook on a website I’m helping establish here where I reside in Miami, USA.

Thought you might appreciate her legacy being spread across the world. I know her family and close friends would love to see this.

Dear Paulo, Antonia and extended families & friends,

My condolences and deepest sympathy for your loss…..I was in Santorini, Greece when a friend texted me in the middle of the night to say that she had found out that Annie had passed away. Needless to say I was really shocked and could hardly believe it! Even more so upon waking to a beautiful, hot, sunny day where everyone is in holiday mode……it didn’t seem real to me until I got to an Internet Cafe and found this website. I couldn’t bring myself to leave a message until now. I have been back a few months now yet have still not come across the road to pass on my sympathies in person. I will make my way over…..think about you guys each time I walk past and feel guilty I haven’t come up!

I had been seeing Annie for a few years getting chiropractic adjustments and attended her information sessions on better health etc. Annie was a wonderful person and so warm and generous in her time and advice……you will be missed. My back is stiff as I write…where are you to give me another adjustment and a rush of energy……

You will be missed and hope you are well where you are….smiling that smile and wearing your Anaconda….the one that prompted me to get Petra make me one too…..I love that piece….and it always makes me think of you, Petra and Antonia!! Also, thanks for visiting me in my dream soon after I heard of your passing….it was good to see you as you always were…happy and smiling.

I have your cook book too!!! Bought if off Petra but i have been slack and have not been following the Alkaline principles however it is a beautifully presented cook book.

    Take care.
